What is the link between health and how we breathe? What elements of the life we lead raises or lowers the risk of chronic diseases such as cancer? What role does Optimal Breathing play in illness prevention or healing? Would you pass a breathing test? These are some of the questions being asked and answered here along with a few other suggestions of how a natural approach to health and wellness can help
For the record, let it be noted that there is more to breathing than simply taking in air
now and again! And there are definite advantages for health.
Cancer Prevention and Cure
Many of us are aware of somebody who has been affected in some way by cancer
cancer now or have had it in the past or someone in their family or in their circle
of friends
At this very moment, as I write, a close member of my family has just been
diagnosed with cancer of the salivary gland that is already a stage 4 (cancer has 5 stages) which has necessitated drastic surgery and has left the muscles on the right side of her face not working. about 20 years ago I ws diagnosed with cervical cancer which required a hysterectomy and my mother lost her fight with cancer when it spread into the lymph system. One of my uncles died of skin cancer not too long ago.
So this potentially deadly disease has certainly affected myself and my dearest
ones and perhaps people you know also. However in this age of information it is now becoming more and more possible to actively particpate in our own healing and prevention as we come to understand much more about the causes and contributory factors of cancer and what we can do to support the healing process naturally and alongside other conventional approaches
To this end I have drawn up a list below of some of the main areas, activities,
foods and lifestyle choices that are generally associated with an increased risk of cancer. Not all of them are directly causal but all are contributory.
List of Items Associated With an Increased Risk of Cancer
1. Fatty foods in the diet from fatty meat. A consistently high fat, high protein diet
2. Drinking a lot of coffee, tea, coke and many other fizzy drinks
3. Aflatoxins i.e fungal products found in foods like peanuts and soya
4. A diet low in iodine and essential vitamins and minerals
5. Amines, nitrosamines, found in unrefrigerated foods, processed meat and
cheese
6. Slow movement of foods through the colon
7. Overeating (associated in 35% of all cancers) and being overweight
8. Some species of mushrooms.
9. A diet high in refined foods and sugars
10. History of any previous cancer
11. Diabetes
12. Promiscuity and early sexual experience - especially in the case of cervical cancer
13. Genetic inheritance, age, race, family history and background, what work you do
14. Estrogens
15. Hair Coloring Dyes
16. Viral infections, flu, colds, diarrhea and rashes
17. Drugs such as antibiotics, aspirin, water tablets, immunosuppressants,
antihistamines and amphetamines
18. Drinking too much alcohol and smoking
19. Overexposure to industrial toxic fumes and chemicals
asbestos fibres, hydrocarbons, cleaning solvents
20. Prolonged stress, depression, unexpressed anger
21. Excessive exposure to radiation and hot or cold conditions.
22. Unclean or contaminated drinking water as in many large cities.
23. A habit of shallow or poor breathing
All of these, singly or accumulatively, can lead to an overtaxing of the sympathetic nervous system which ultimately leads to increased susceptibility to toxemia and acidosis which is the right environment for anaerobic organisms to multiply and take over.
If you are not breathing correctly this may not be directly linked to cancer but because cancer is
anerobic and is unable to thrive where there are high concentrations of oxygen, anything
that brings more oxygen into the body and blood is good. Poor breathing patterns can seriously affect your physical health as well as your
emotional and mental wellbeing.
Oxygen is in fact a natural antibiotic and so optimal breathing is one way to ensure a good supply of material with which to fight viruses and bacteria
For the best chances of success with a cancer treatment, make sure you
practice and develop your breathing.
What kind of breaths do YOU take?
Take the F.REE Breathing Test and Evaluation!!
Heart attacks, cancer, strokes, asthma, speech problems and every disease known to mankind is worsened or improved by how well we breathe; the quality of our respiration. So are peak performance such as in activities requiring mental acuity, athletics, acting, speaking or singing.
Creeping Cancer
The term, cancer originally comes from the latin word for crab. Cancer was
described by Hippocrates as a 'crab like' illness, who observed that cancer, by
nature 'crawls' or spreads and sprawls through the body, eventually leading to death. Now cancer is more usually defined as an uncontrolled growth and spread of abnormal cells in the body. Cancer is actually more than one disease and is a general term used to describe over 100 different types, but what is common about them is that they all include a process whereby body cells multiply in an uncontrolled way.
because cancer is anaerobic it is unable to survive in the presence of oxygen. This explains
why the one organ that buckles under stress, the heart, in fact nevr falls victim to cancer. The heart absolutely thrives on a good supply of oxygen.
How breathing exercises can help
Optimal breathing can help to provide an adequate supply of oxygen to the body and works very well alongside other remedies and techniques to ensure good health and a much lower risk of cancer and much higher survival rates
What we need to remember, however is that along with the use of oxygen the body produces a potentially lethal by-product known as free radicals which need to be dealt with by making sure you take in foods rich in antioxidants.
The importance of antioxidants
Antioxidants found in some foods prevent or slow the oxidative damage to our
body. They work at eating up or mopping up the free radicals and through this action they prevent or repair any potential or actual free radical damage.
Antioxidants are provided by taking nutrients such as Vitamin A and carotenoids, Vitamin C found mainly in citrus fruits and green leafy vegetables, Vitamin E found in nuts and grains, Selenium (in fish, red meat, eggs, garlic) and superfoods like Saw Palmetto and Acai berry.
Other common antioxidants include flavonoids from pomegranate and purple grapes, lycopene from tomatoes, lutein from dark green vegetables, and lignan from oats and rye
Natural Treatments
Other remedies which help in the fight against cancer include internal cleansing,
destressing, elimination of parasites, changing negative into positive thoughts, optimism and self confidence. Lowering stress and Changing one's attitude has a direct bearing on theimmune system and five of the best ways to do this are laughter, daily positive affirmations, listening to relaxation music, walks in nature and various meditative practices
Being too hypervigilant, usually connected to some past trauma which puts the body on hyperalert, or thinking negatively
feelings of guilt, putting blame onto others, being over critical of self, in combination with poor
toxic overload can result in an internal environment which encourages a flood of
unfriendly bacteria and other organisms into the body. In the end the body's immune
system, biochemical and energetic system and basic life flow becomes
overwhelmed by chaos, disruptions and blockages. All of this may invite cancer
and other serious conditions to take hold.
EFT and Tapping
This popular discovery relies on a process of light tapping on some acupuncture points (without the needles) to release any blocks caused by stress and past trauma.

It is a process that you can easily learn and apply whenever you are in pain
